Do you feel amazing today?

There’s a first time for everything, right? This will be the first time I share feedback in this way. I could simply just add it to a scrolling list of positive testimonials on the sidebar of LanaShay.com, but this was near and dear to my heart, so I’m sharing it with you here. Do I have your permission? If so, please read on 😉

When I posted The Hurb, one response came in via email:

“Good morning Lana!

This is incredible!!!
I just emailed Kelsea via the “contact” link on their site. I’d love to help get The Hurb [vending] machines into Madison. Thanks for sharing! Our office building alone has the nastiest vending machine, that no one touches because the options are horrible!

Thanksgiving: Are you eating poison or fuel?

In lieu of the upcoming holiday, I’m publishing early this week! I want you to receive this special message before Thanksgiving, so that you have the opportunity to bring this knowledge with you wherever you go, to gather with loved ones this week.

Less than a week ago, my husband Joe and I sat down to watch Origins: Our roots. Our planet. Our future.

I’m not big on pushing my belief system on anyone.  It’s always an invitation.  I invite you to eat food that will make you feel amazing. I invite you to get in the kitchen with your lover and family.  I invite you to vote with your dollars, and buy what makes you feel great-and supports the people who want you to feel great.…

Spicy Secret Series #1: Cinnamon

Spicy Secret Series #1: Cinnamon |  by: July Westhale

Remember “How snacks can save your marriage?”  Well, that moment when your blood sugar drops and you’re ready to chew on your own arm, cinnamon is a quick and easy trick!

Research has shown that two teaspoons of cinnamon the night before a blood glucose test can drastically alter the results. As a long-time hypoglycemic, I always carry cinnamon supplements around in my purse-arsenal for times of low blood sugar, since it’s a well-recognized quick-fix.

For hundreds of years, the spice has not only been used to solve a hangry-arm chewing catastrophe, it’s also used as a remedy for muscle spasms, to vomiting, and just for the common cold, or loss of appetite, stomach upset, and inflammation that contributes to illnesses such as arthritis or chronic pain.…

How snacks can save your marriage

…or maybe just your day.

Mexico was blissful.  I’m sad it’s over, and yet so grateful for the time we spent in tropical paradise.

A few days before we departed, our photo shoot on the beach was the perfect opportunity to capture the essence of the trip.  We woke up before sunrise; around 5 am and stepped onto the sand just as the breathtaking colors flooded the sky.

Joe and Lana kiss

Everything was magical.  It was quiet, peaceful, and the colors were stunning that morning.  There was only one issue.  As we rushed out, we discovered that our hosts were fresh out of bottled water, and it was too early for us to buy water anywhere.  Sweating buckets in Mexico without water to drink isn’t the most pleasant experience, but we figured we’d survive, and departed without H2O.…

Let’s talk about sex. Does she lead?

Let me fill you in quick.  My husband Joe and have been studying with Freddy Zental Weaver and Elsbeth Meuth, the founders of TantraNova for nearly five years.  We have the privilege of assisting them, as they lead couples through a week-long workshop at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California.  I believe in Karma, as does Joe-who mentions that ours must be exceptionally good, to be doing this work in this freaking incredible location.  It’s true.  It’s really incredible.  We get to hang out in paradise for a week, and are fed the most delicious and nourishing food I’ve ever tasted.  Every day we have conversations with new friends, that share the desire to discuss global or universal concepts (engage highly stimulating conversation).…

Chew to avoid stinky embarrassment

Do you chew well? No really. Do you chew your food when you have a meal? Let’s be honest, we’ve all scarfed down a piece of pizza at one point or another.  You don’t need to feel bad about it.  There’s certainly a time and place for everything.  I can tell you that I do not always pay attention to chewing.  Sometimes, I’m gabbing away with friends or my lover and just enjoying the moment; somehow mindful chewing is temporarily neglected.

Just a few weeks ago I attended a course at CreativeLive and spent three incredible days with the lovely Darya Rose.  I can’t say enough about her work and about how much I love her message.  She’s not only a Foodist, she’s a total (self proclaimed) science-geek!…
